Zelenskyy discussed with Costa and von der Leyen the next steps on the path to Ukraine's EU accession
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that before the European Council meeting, he discussed with António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen the next steps on the path to Ukraine's accession to the European Union. The parties also coordinated their positions.
“It is important to open the remaining five negotiation clusters in the near future. We expect to soon receive the first tranche of the EU financial support package to strengthen our defense.
Special attention is given to security cooperation and working with the European Union on an agreement in the format of the Drone Deal,” he stated.
The parties also discussed defense support for Ukraine, primarily strengthening air defense and protection against Russian ballistic missiles.
