Property Registered to Relatives and Real Estate in Poland – Law Enforcement Officer Suspected of Illegal Enrichment of Nearly 16 Million UAH
The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has notified the head of one of the law enforcement units in the Poltava region of suspicion of illegal enrichment. The difference between the value of acquired property and his official income amounts to nearly 16 million hryvnias.
The SBI noted that detecting illegal enrichment and hidden assets of officials remains one of the agency's priority areas of work.
According to investigators, during 2024–2025, the official registered property under close relatives – his mother and stepfather.
Among the acquired assets are:
- Volkswagen Touareg, Tesla Model S, and Lexus GX 460 cars;
- an apartment in Poltava;
- two apartments in the Zakarpattia region;
- housing in Warsaw.
The total value of the acquired property exceeds 22 million hryvnias. At the same time, the official income of the law enforcement officer during this period was about 1.1 million hryvnias.
The investigation also did not confirm the existence of legal sources of funds for his relatives to purchase the mentioned assets.
The official has been notified of suspicion under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment).
The article's sanction provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment.
The court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention with the alternative of bail exceeding 10 million hryvnias.
