The Ministry of Defense explained what will happen to mobilized soldiers who do not sign a new contract
The Ministry of Defense clarified what service conditions will apply to mobilized servicemen who do not sign a new contract.
The department noted that such servicemen will continue to serve until the terms defined by the decision of the President of Ukraine. Specifically, this refers to the end of the special period or the announcement of demobilization.
At the same time, they will have the right to the same payments for direct participation in combat operations as servicemen on new contracts.
They will also be granted rest calculated at 1 day for every 2 days of performing combat (special) tasks on the line of combat contact with the enemy.
The Ministry of Defense also reminded that servicemen discharged within the terms defined by the decree of the President of Ukraine will not be subject to re-conscription during mobilization for three years after discharge.
Recall that the Ministry of Defense is developing a special "calculator" with which every soldier will be able to approximately calculate their discharge date. This was reported by the Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov.
He noted that the partial discharge process will begin at the end of autumn for those defenders who joined the service from 2022 and earlier. At the same time, the order will be determined by two criteria – length of service and number of days in combat.
According to Fedorov, even if a soldier signs a new contract (for example, for 24 months), this does not cancel the possibility of their discharge if a corresponding decree on demobilization or partial discharge is issued.
What will have priority
The president's decree on discharge, not the contract itself.
That is: if a soldier signed a contract but falls under the discharge criteria – they will still be discharged, says Fedorov.
