The Ministry of Defense provided clarifications regarding the new system of motivational contracts in the Defense Forces and answered servicemen's questions about the procedure for signing them.
Is it necessary to terminate the current contract?
The department noted that it is not necessary to terminate the current contract before signing a new one.
After concluding a new motivational contract, the previous contract automatically ceases to be valid. The new agreement takes effect from the day it is concluded, which is indicated in the personnel order.
Accounting for length of service
The issue of crediting the previous period of service was also clarified.
The length of service under the previous contract is not included in the length of service under the new motivational contract. At the same time, this period is taken into account in the total length of military service.
Impact on deferment after service
The Ministry of Defense specified that the previous length of service also affects the duration of deferment after the completion of the new contract.
Thus, the previous and new periods of service are accounted for separately within different legal mechanisms but affect the overall military service record.
