An indictment has been sent to court regarding the director of a private company that supplied electricity to kindergartens in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv at inflated prices, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported.

According to the investigation, in January 2023, the Department of Education of the Desnianskyi District State Administration signed a contract for the supply of electricity to preschool institutions in the district.

Subsequently, the private company initiated the signing of additional agreements, which unjustifiably increased the cost of electricity, which, according to the investigation, violated the requirements of current legislation.

As a result of these additional agreements, the company director, as stated in the case materials, embezzled budget funds amounting to over 1.8 million hryvnias. This caused corresponding losses to the capital's budget.

It is separately noted that the indictment against the official of the Department of Education who signed the additional agreements is already under court consideration.
