In Kyiv, a man fenced off part of the Syretsky Hai park and restricted access to the lake — he was charged
In Kyiv, a man was charged for unlawfully occupying a land plot within the nationally significant garden and park art monument "Syretsky Hai" park and restricting access to the lake. This was reported by the prosecutor's office.
According to the investigation, a Kyiv resident decided to expand the territory of his household and fenced off a neighboring land plot of 0.13 ha. This land belongs to the nature reserve fund and is classified as especially valuable land.
As a result of the fence installation, the man effectively restricted access for other citizens to the land plot as well as to the lake located there.
It is noted that the unlawfully occupied territory is located within the "Syretsky Hai" park in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital.
The man's actions were qualified under Part 2 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — unauthorized occupation of especially valuable land plots.
Currently, the illegally installed fence has already been dismantled, the land plot has been restored to its proper condition, and the damages caused have been compensated.
