Donald Trump unexpectedly changed his position on licenses for Patriot production for Ukraine
The United States has not granted Ukraine a license to produce interceptors for the Patriot air defense system. This was stated by American President Donald Trump during a press conference.
When a journalist asked the US leader what actions from Ukraine he wants to see before making a decision on granting Kyiv a license to produce Patriot missiles, he replied: "At the moment, we have not agreed to this. We are discussing it. But it is very difficult to transfer such technologies. And I don’t think it will ever happen, but they can turn them against you. That is possible."
According to him, the US must "be very careful about transferring the secrets of this weapon," adding that "it is impossible to just take and copy it."
"However, now we need to produce it a little faster. We have already given away almost all of it," Trump said.
Earlier Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine could become the third country to produce missiles for the Patriot system.
