The unrest began early in the match after the French club conceded a goal in the sixth minute.

After the match ended, the situation in the city remained tense due to mass celebrations and gatherings of fans. The regular and extra time of the final ended in a 1-1 draw. In the penalty shootout, PSG players were more accurate, winning 4-3.

Thus, PSG became Champions League winners for the second consecutive time and the second time in their history.
