Instagram has added a new feature that allows users to change the placement of posts in their profile grid. ABC News reports on this.

Previously, posts were displayed on profiles strictly in chronological order. With the introduction of the Grid Reordering feature, users for the first time can arrange posts in any order they want and independently shape the look of their page.

Meta explained that the update will be useful for those who want to highlight a new phase in their content, draw attention back to old posts, refresh the visual style of their profile, or emphasize important projects or works.

To change the order of posts, you need to go to your profile, press and hold the selected post, then choose the "Reorder grid" function and drag posts into the desired order.

The company clarified that pinned posts and Reels will remain at the top of the profile and will not participate in the rearrangement.

According to Meta, the new feature will allow content creators to form thematic series of posts, combine multipart stories, educational materials, or posts about transformations and changes.

The update also provides the opportunity to draw attention again to already published materials without the need to repost. The company believes this will help new followers see previously missed content and give old posts new context.

The Grid Reordering feature has already started appearing for Instagram users in various countries around the world. Meta calls it one of the biggest profile layout updates in recent years, as it allows for the first time to completely change the order of posts regardless of their publication date.
