Military tax will be fully directed to servicemen's salaries: one step left to launch the mechanism
The Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee recommended that parliament adopt bill No. 15167 in the second reading and in full regarding the allocation of the military tax to the special fund of the state budget.
In case of final approval of the document, funds from the military tax after the end of martial law will be directed exclusively to the payment of monetary allowances to servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Thus, the deputies recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt the bill in the second reading and in full in the final version set out in the relevant comparative table, with the necessary editorial and technical-legal amendments.
The document proposes to establish that from January 1, 2027, until December 31 of the third calendar year following the year in which martial law in Ukraine is terminated or canceled, the military tax will be fully credited to the special fund of the state budget.
It is envisaged that these funds will have a targeted purpose and will be directed exclusively to the payment of monetary allowances to servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As previously reported by the "Judicial and Legal Newspaper", the Verkhovna Rada has already supported bill No. 15167 in the first reading. At the same time, the document was adopted as a basis by the minimally required number of votes — it was supported by 226 deputies, which exceeded the constitutionally established minimum by only one vote.
The bill provides for the creation of a special fund within the state budget for the targeted use of funds from the military tax.
The Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee noted that the implementation of this initiative will allow about UAH 200 billion to be directed annually to the special fund. These funds will be used exclusively for the payment of monetary allowances to servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In case of final adoption of the bill, from January 1, 2027, the military tax will be fully credited to the special fund of the state budget and directed to financing payments to servicemen.
