The Parliamentary Committee Supported the Bill on Connecting the State Border Guard Service to State Registers
On Tuesday, June 16, the Committee on Digital Transformation reviewed and supported bills aimed at simplifying and speeding up the procedures for crossing the state border for citizens while simultaneously strengthening the level of security for the state (No. 15118 and No. 15118-1).
The bills provide, in particular, for the simplification of customs and border procedures to reduce queues and bureaucracy, as well as their harmonization with European Union rules. They also define the powers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, including actions during rescue operations at sea and in cases of state border violations.
Committee members noted that the adoption of legislative changes will increase the level of security at Ukraine's borders and ensure the reliability of border control. At the same time, they emphasized that comments and proposals on these projects require further elaboration.
Earlier, the "Judicial and Legal Newspaper" wrote in detail about bill No. 15118 "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Improvement of Legislation in the Field of State Border Protection of Ukraine," which provides for a large-scale update of the border protection system and an expansion of the functions of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
