On Tuesday, May 26, during a meeting, the High Council of Justice decided to appoint Petro Valentynovych Talpa as the Head of the Judicial Guard Service, releasing him from the position of Deputy Head of the Judicial Guard Service for Organizational and Managerial Activities. This was reported by the HCJ.

“On May 4, 2026, the Commission for conducting the competition for vacant positions of the Head of the Judicial Guard Service and his deputies determined Petro Talpa as the winner of the competition, having scored a total of 17.6 points,” the HCJ stated.

In total, 6 candidates participated in the competition for the position of Head of the Judicial Guard Service.

The HCJ reminded that the Head of the Judicial Guard Service organizes the work of the body responsible for maintaining public order in the court, stopping manifestations of disrespect towards the court, as well as guarding the premises of courts, bodies, and institutions of the justice system, performing functions related to state provision of personal security for judges and their family members, among other duties.

Recall that in March, Petro Talpa was appointed acting Head of the Judicial Guard Service.
