Russia damaged the buildings of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy during the attack on Kyiv: 1.5 million UAH needed for restoration
As a result of the Russian attack on the night of May 24, seven buildings of the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" in Kyiv were damaged, including five academic buildings. Approximately 1.5 million hryvnias are needed for the urgent restoration of the university's premises. This was reported by the university administration.
The National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" noted that not only academic buildings were affected by the shelling, but also the scientific library, museum, and the academy's cultural and artistic center. Windows were broken, facades, roofs, and interior spaces, including ceilings, were damaged.
The university emphasized that despite the Russian attacks, the educational process continues, and the academy keeps operating. They stressed that the institution currently needs assistance for the prompt restoration of the damaged spaces and to ensure safe conditions for students and staff.
According to preliminary estimates, 1.5 million hryvnias is required to eliminate the consequences of the strike and carry out critically necessary repair work. The university also stated that they would appreciate expert support in restoring the buildings and have launched a fundraising campaign for repairs.
Recall that Russia carried out a massive shelling of Kyiv and the region on the night of May 24, using ballistic missiles and strike drones. As a result of the shelling, dozens of fires broke out in the capital, damaging residential buildings, a school, a dormitory, a shopping center, a business center, and warehouse facilities.
