In Kyiv, three men promised a conscripted soldier to arrange travel abroad as a truck driver for $17,000
In Kyiv, three men were exposed who offered a conscripted soldier to organize an illegal exit abroad under the guise of a second truck driver for 17,000 US dollars. All three were detained and notified of suspicion. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, two suspects initially offered a Kyiv resident to remove him from the wanted list and employ him at a critical infrastructure enterprise to obtain exemption from mobilization. However, after learning that the man was wanted for unauthorized leaving of a military unit, they stated that this option was not suitable for him.
After that, they proposed another scheme — involving an acquaintance who allegedly could organize travel abroad as a second truck driver for 17,000 dollars. The "client" agreed, gathered funds and documents.
During the money transfer, law enforcement detained an accomplice of the scheme organizer.
The organizer's actions were qualified as receiving unlawful benefit and illegal transportation of persons across the state border, committed for mercenary motives. Two other suspects are charged with complicity in this crime.
The articles' sanctions provide for imprisonment from 7 to 9 years.
One of the suspects was chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of bail set at 665,600 hryvnias. The other two were assigned round-the-clock house arrest.
