The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection reminded citizens and business entities that there is a ban in Ukraine on smoking, using, and consuming tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, hookahs, and devices for consuming tobacco without combustion inside restaurant premises.

This applies to cafes, bars, restaurants, and other similar establishments. The ban is stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Measures to Prevent and Reduce the Consumption of Tobacco Products and Their Harmful Impact on Public Health."

Also, it is prohibited to place information about hookah preparation services in restaurant establishments. The State Service explained that information about tobacco products or related services in menus or on advertising posters is considered advertising and promotion of tobacco product sales, which is also prohibited by law.

A fine of 3 thousand hryvnias is provided for placing ashtrays, hookahs, or for smoking and using tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, or hookahs inside restaurant premises.

In case of repeated violation within a year, the fine increases to 15 thousand hryvnias.
