Car re-registration through a trusted person: when the service can be processed without the owner and what documents are needed
The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that in case of busyness, business trips, or other circumstances that make a personal visit to the service center impossible, the interests of the vehicle owner can be represented by another person based on a power of attorney.
Conditions for processing through a representative
The Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that if the registration operation requires an expert examination of the vehicle, it is mandatory regardless of who applies for the service.
To receive the service, the authorized representative must have:
- an identity document;
- a power of attorney with the appropriate authority;
- the vehicle (if an expert examination is required);
- registration documents for the car.
The role of experts and service centers
The Expert Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs verifies the authenticity of identification numbers and documents. The Ministry's service centers directly carry out registration actions.
The department emphasizes that such interaction ensures the legality of vehicle re-registration and additionally protects the participants of the respective operations.
