Up to 1 million UAH compensation – the government expanded financial support for those affected at critical infrastructure facilities due to the war
The government has improved the procedure for providing assistance to people affected at critical infrastructure facilities as a result of the war. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.
The payment amounts are defined as follows:
- 800 thousand UAH — for persons with disability group I;
- 500 thousand UAH — group II;
- 200 thousand UAH — group III;
- 1 million UAH — in case of a person's death.
The mechanism for additional payments in case of a change in disability group has also been regulated if the person has already received the corresponding assistance earlier.
Separately, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a draft law regarding additional social guarantees for war veterans and workers affected by accidents at work.
For combatants and persons with disabilities due to the war, the insurance period for calculating payments will be considered as 14 months instead of 12.
Workers affected by accidents at work will be able to receive temporary disability benefits immediately after the sick leave is opened, without waiting for the investigation to be completed. The first 17 days are paid by the employer. If the investigation confirms the insured event, there is a possibility of additional payment up to 100% of the average salary.
