Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced that the government is strengthening support for farmers by launching a new program for the purchase of Ukrainian fertilizers and increasing compensation for land reclamation.

Farmers will be able to receive up to 1000 UAH per hectare in non-repayable assistance for the purchase of complex mineral fertilizers of Ukrainian production. The calculation provides for up to 7 tons of fertilizers per 100 hectares of land.

Applications will be submitted through the State Agrarian Register. According to the Prime Minister, this will reduce farmers' expenses while supporting domestic fertilizer producers.

The government has also expanded state support in the field of land reclamation. The maximum compensation amount for farmers and water user organizations has been increased to over 30,000 UAH per hectare across Ukraine, and for frontline regions – to over 48,000 UAH per hectare.

Farmers will have the opportunity to more quickly restore and modernize irrigation systems, as well as expand irrigation areas where it is most relevant. From 2027, annual indexation of this support is planned.

Svyrydenko noted that this is a continuation of a systematic land reclamation reform. In particular, the government has already begun modernizing irrigation systems in the Odesa region and increased state support for land reclamation development in frontline territories to 80%.

The government also continues comprehensive support for Ukrainian farmers: a humanitarian demining program for agricultural lands is in place, the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery is compensated, as well as expenses for the construction and reconstruction of farms. Producers in risk-prone farming zones receive separate support.

This week, the first five agricultural producers from frontline regions received increased compensation – 40% of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery.

Since the beginning of the year, small farmers have submitted applications for 1.1 billion UAH in assistance under European programs. Payments are planned to be made within the next month. In addition, opportunities for exporting Ukrainian agricultural products have been expanded.
