Return from Temporary Leave: How to Return to Service Without Problems on the Road
For servicemen whose temporary leave is recorded until June 12, 2026 inclusive, and who have decided to return to service, a simplified mechanism for returning to the military in one of 55 designated military units is in effect until September 20, 2026. This was reminded by the Poltava Regional Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC).
You can return to service online or offline:
- submit a report through the Army+ app,
- arrive directly at the chosen military unit (for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service),
- contact the 1st or 2nd recruitment centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (only for the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
"However, on the way to the designated military unit, the serviceman may be stopped by representatives of the police, TRC and the Joint Staff or Military Police.
In such a case, he must show confirmation that he is heading to the place of service after the report has been approved," the TRC stated.
How to do this:
- if the return is made by submitting a report in the Army+ app, such confirmation is a white ribbon "On the Road" in Army ID.
- if the return report is submitted through the recruitment center, the confirmation is a paper order.
"This must be done without exceeding the validity period of the Confirmation," the TRC emphasized.
Which are:
- for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service - 5 days,
- for servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine - 48 hours after notification of the signing of the Commander of the National Guard's order in Army+.
"If the serviceman provided confirmation but was still detained, it is necessary to contact the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine's hotline for issues of returning to service:
0 800 605 100.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine emphasizes that the Ministry of Defense contact center for return to service accompanies servicemen returning after temporary leave at every step – from submitting the report to enrollment in the military unit," the TRC added.
