During an air raid alert, it is important to act without delay, as the right actions at home, on the street, or in a car can save lives.

During an air raid alert, it is important not to hesitate and to move to a safe place as quickly as possible. Following simple rules can significantly reduce the risk to life and health during missile or drone attacks. The course of action depends on where a person is at the moment the alert is announced — on the street, in a car, or at home. This is reminded by the Patrol Police of Ukraine.
How to act during an air raid alert:
- If you are on the street:
- immediately head to the nearest shelter;
- if you do not know where it is located, ask other people or use a shelter map;
- do not use elevators and avoid being near objects of strategic importance.
- If you are in a car:
- stop the vehicle in a safe place so that it does not obstruct traffic;
- quickly head to the nearest shelter;
- if there is no shelter nearby, enter the nearest accessible building and hide following the "two walls" rule on the first or basement floor.
- If you are at home:
- quickly get dressed, take your emergency bag with the most necessary items, and go to the shelter;
- follow messages from official information sources;
- if there is no shelter nearby, stay indoors, following the "two walls" rule.
