In Odesa region, a drunk man with a pistol came to the school to pick up his son — he will be prosecuted
In Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Odesa region, a man came to an elementary school to pick up his son after classes while intoxicated and armed. The police have completed the pre-trial investigation and sent the indictment to court.
The incident occurred in late April this year during the day. According to the investigation, a 50-year-old local resident came to the educational institution for the child, but the teacher, noticing signs of intoxication, refused to let the boy go with his father.
After that, the man began to argue, brandish a pistol, and threaten. School staff together with an educational security service inspector took measures to protect the children who were in the institution.
Patrol officers and an investigative team arrived at the scene. Law enforcement detained the man and confiscated the weapon. According to experts, the seized item is a short-barreled smoothbore firearm.
The man refused to undergo a sobriety test.
During the check, it was also revealed that he had previously been held administratively liable, including for driving under the influence and domestic violence.
During the investigation, the court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of 99,840 hryvnias. The man took advantage of this opportunity.
He has now been charged under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism with the use of a firearm, as well as under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal acquisition, storage, and carrying of weapons without a permit.

The man was intoxicated and used a pneumatic pistol. The incident occurred in one of the supermarkets on Pivnichna Street in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv.
Law enforcement established that a 35-year-old Kyiv resident entered the store intoxicated and began provoking a conflict with employees. During the dispute, the man took out a pneumatic pistol and fired a shot at the security guard.
