In Bukovina, a wooden bridge full of children collapsed during a tour – video
In the Chernivtsi region, an accident occurred during a tour with children — a wooden bridge collapsed. This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi region.
The incident happened yesterday in the village of Vyzhenka, Vyzhnytsia territorial community. During the tour, a group of children simultaneously stepped onto a wooden bridge over the river. The structure could not withstand the load and collapsed.
As a result of the collapse, several children with injuries of varying severity were taken to a medical facility and are currently in the hospital. Rescuers were not involved in eliminating the consequences of the incident.
The State Emergency Service of Bukovina emphasizes the need to follow safety rules during recreation and excursions and urges adults, group leaders, and parents to regularly remind children of basic behavior rules:
- do not create excessive load on bridges and other structures;
- observe warning signs and established restrictions;
- do not push or crowd in one place;
- follow the instructions of accompanying persons during excursions and recreation;
- assess risks before photo and video shooting in unusual locations.
