Bruises on the arms and swelling of the legs: what doctors said about Donald Trump's health condition
US President Donald Trump remains in excellent health. This is stated in a report released by the White House on May 29 from his doctor, who referred to the results of an examination conducted this week.
At the same time, the document notes that the 79-year-old president continues to have "mild swelling of the lower legs" and "benign" bruises on his arms.
"President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical indicators," wrote Dr. Sean Conley in the note. He added that Trump is "fully capable of performing all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and head of state."
Trump's visit on May 26 to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center was his third in the last 13 months. His health condition has attracted increased attention, as over the past year the White House has repeatedly explained some medical features of the president following the appearance of photos showing swollen ankles, bruises on the arms, and spots on the neck.
Soon after the examination, Trump stated that "everything was checked, and everything was perfect."
Barbabella's note mentions "mild swelling of the lower legs with improvement compared to last year," as well as bruises on the arms, described as a "common," "benign" phenomenon that "corresponds to minor soft tissue irritation due to frequent handshakes against the background of aspirin intake for cardiovascular disease prevention."
The Friday note also states that the president's overall heart function is normal, and "a comprehensive neurological examination demonstrated a normal mental state," including checks for depression and anxiety.
"Preventive counseling was conducted, including recommendations on nutrition, low-dose aspirin intake, increased physical activity, and further weight reduction," the document says.
