June 2 in Ukraine and worldwide is the World Eating Disorders Awareness Day. This day was established in 2016 by international organizations and activists to draw attention to the problem of eating disorders, raise public awareness, and support people facing such illnesses.

What church holiday is today

Today, June 2, believers celebrate the Day of Remembrance of Saint Nicephorus, Patriarch of Constantinople. A prominent church figure, theologian, and defender of the veneration of holy icons. He was born around 758 in Constantinople and became Patriarch of Constantinople in 806. During the period of iconoclasm, Saint Nicephorus firmly defended the veneration of icons, for which he suffered persecution from Emperor Leo V the Armenian. In 815, he was removed from the patriarchal throne and sent into exile, where he spent the rest of his life.
