On June 14, the world celebrates World Blood Donor Day, Light Industry Workers' Day, International Blogger Day, and International Bath Day. On this day, a number of important historical events are also remembered, and the memory of the holy prophet Elisha is honored.

- In 1997, a copy of the 1939 "Batman" comic was sold at Sotheby's auction in New York for $68,500;
- In 2014, near Luhansk airport, militants of the so-called "LPR" shot down an Il-76 military transport plane of the Ukrainian Air Force. As a result of the tragedy, 49 Ukrainian servicemen died;

On this day, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of the holy prophet Elisha, who lived in the 9th century BC and was one of the most prominent prophets of Old Testament Israel.
According to biblical accounts, Elisha received his prophetic ministry from the prophet Elijah, who symbolically passed his cloak to him. After that, Elisha left his home and became a disciple and follower of Elijah.
The prophet is credited with numerous miracles described in the Books of Kings. He purified the water in Jericho, helped a widow multiply her oil supplies, healed the sick and lepers, and also foretold important events in the life of Israel. According to tradition, even after his death, his relics caused a person to be resurrected.
