In Kremenchuk, a woman swindled nearly 30 thousand hryvnias from Nova Poshta by damaging her own parcels – the court sent her to prison
The Avtozavodskyi District Court of Kremenchuk sentenced a woman for repeated fraud involving compensations from LLC "Nova Poshta".
Case circumstances
The accused, while at her place of residence, repeatedly committed fraud using the mobile application of LLC "Nova Poshta." To unlawfully acquire someone else's property by deception, she registered fictitious shipments (cosmetics, medicines, smartphone accessories), issued express waybills, and sent parcels to parcel lockers.
After receiving the parcels, the accused created the appearance of damage during transportation and initiated claims about damaged shipments through the app, providing knowingly false information. As a result, LLC "Nova Poshta" transferred compensations to bank cards used by the accused. She disposed of the received funds at her own discretion.
Several episodes were established:
- January 5, 2025 – acquisition of 3,704 UAH;
- September 24, 2025 – acquisition of 3,800 UAH;
- October 4, 2025 – acquisition of 3,300 UAH;
- October 7, 2025 – acquisition of 4,999 UAH;
- November 23, 2025 – acquisition of 4,350 UAH;
- November 23, 2025 – acquisition of 4,124 UAH.
The total amount of property damage caused to LLC "Nova Poshta" is 28,257 hryvnias. The actions of the accused were qualified as fraud committed repeatedly.
In the court session, the accused fully admitted her guilt, sincerely repented, gave testimony that fully confirmed the prosecution's case, and fully compensated the damages caused.
Court decision
The Avtozavodskyi District Court of Kremenchuk, Poltava region, found the accused guilty of committing a criminal offense under part two of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud committed repeatedly).
The court sentenced her to 2 (two) years of imprisonment. Based on article 71 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the court partially merged the unserved part of the sentence from a previous verdict of the Kryukivskyi District Court of Kremenchuk dated March 19, 2024, and finally determined the punishment as 5 (five) years and 1 (one) month of imprisonment.
Until the verdict takes legal effect, a preventive measure in the form of a personal obligation with corresponding duties was applied to the accused. The court also raised the issue with the executive committee of the Kremenchuk City Council regarding the placement or establishment of guardianship over the accused's minor child for the period of serving the sentence.
