The Separate Special Operations Center "North" of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces was awarded the honorary title "named after the UPA Heroes"
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree awarding the honorary title to the Separate Special Operations Center "North" of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"In order to restore the historical traditions of the national army, considering the exemplary fulfillment of assigned tasks during the defense of Ukraine's territorial integrity and independence, I hereby decree: to award the Separate Special Operations Center 'North' of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the honorary title 'named after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army Heroes' and henceforth to call it – the Separate Special Operations Center 'North' named after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army Heroes of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the text of the decree states.
The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.
Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are receiving a name associated with the Ukrainian Insurgent Army for the first time.
Recall, May 27 is the Day of the Special Operations Forces, marking the 10th anniversary of their establishment.
