A man was detained in Lviv who, during escape, took out a knife and wounded a military serviceman of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center
Law enforcement officers detained a 29-year-old resident of Lviv suspected of attacking a serviceman of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center with a knife, which occurred several days ago in the city. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Police and the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, on May 29 at about 12:10 on Khvylovoho Street in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Lviv, during notification activities, a group of servicemen from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center together with police officers were performing official duties to inform the population about mobilization measures.
At that time, a local resident, seeing the notification group, began to flee. After he was caught, he took out a knife and stabbed one of the servicemen in the shoulder. After the attack, the man fled. The injured 36-year-old serviceman was taken to a medical facility where doctors diagnosed a stab wound to the shoulder.
During operational and investigative measures, law enforcement officers identified the suspect and his whereabouts. The 29-year-old Lviv resident was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine in the apartment of his relative, where he was hiding.
Investigators of Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Halytskyi District Prosecutor's Office, notified the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — threat or violence against an official in connection with the performance of official duties.
The article's sanction provides for punishment in the form of restriction of liberty for a term of three to five years or imprisonment for the same term.
