The Supreme Court allowed the NBU to seize a large property complex in Kyiv due to the debts of the bank "Finance and Credit"
The Supreme Court confirmed the right of the National Bank of Ukraine to seize a property complex in Kyiv for partial repayment of the debt of JSC "Bank 'Finance and Credit'" on refinancing loans.
According to the NBU, this concerns a property complex with a total area of over 22.6 thousand sq. m, located at 4/6 Ioanna Pavla II Street in Kyiv. The property belongs to LLC "Construction Company 'Osnova'".
On May 26, the Cassation Commercial Court as part of the Supreme Court closed the cassation proceedings on the company's complaint and upheld the decisions of the lower courts, which fully satisfied the National Bank's claim to seize this real estate object.
The NBU reminded that LLC "Construction Company 'Osnova'" in 2008 concluded a mortgage agreement with the National Bank on the property complex to secure obligations under refinancing loans provided to JSC "Bank 'Finance and Credit'".
Since the bank did not fulfill its loan obligations, the regulator filed a lawsuit to seize the real estate object based on a court decision.
In July 2025, the Commercial Court of Kyiv fully satisfied the NBU's claim. In February 2026, the Northern Appellate Commercial Court left this decision unchanged.
After the Commercial Court of Kyiv's decision came into legal force, the NBU received enforcement orders for compulsory execution of the court decision and initiated enforcement proceedings, including the seizure of the property complex.
The bank "Finance and Credit" was classified as insolvent back in September 2015.
