Online stores did not want to refund purchases: how it all ended
The Main Department of the State Consumer Service in the Odessa region reported that it reviewed two consumer complaints regarding violations of their rights when purchasing goods online.
It is noted that in the first case, a citizen was sold a low-quality car accessory (engine protection) worth 4,040 UAH, which did not meet the declared specifications and was not suitable for its intended use. After returning the product to the seller, the funds were not refunded for a long time despite numerous appeals by the buyer.
In order to comprehensively review the circumstances of the case, the Main Department sent an appropriate inquiry to the business entity demanding to eliminate possible violations of consumer protection legislation. As a result of the work carried out, the claimant's demands were satisfied, and the money for the purchased product was fully refunded.
In the second case, a consumer filed a complaint about the refusal to refund money for a product of proper quality (a dress) worth 2,600 UAH, which did not fit and was returned to the seller within the period established by law. Despite receiving the product, the seller refused to refund the money, citing circumstances that were not properly documented during the acceptance of the shipment.
After processing the complaint and sending an appropriate inquiry to the business entity, the issue was resolved. As a result of the measures taken, the consumer's rights were restored, and the money she paid was fully refunded.
