Detinization and Deregulation: The Government Announced New Steps for Ukrainian Business
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko announced discussions with entrepreneurs on further steps regarding the detinization of the economy and deregulation. According to her, following the latest meeting of the Council on Entrepreneurship Support, specific actions have been agreed upon in response to business requests. Key directions include further withdrawal of the economy from the shadow sector, simplification of regulatory procedures, and improvement of business conditions.
Svyrydenko noted that after the previous Council meeting in April, business proposals were processed, and a number of decisions have already been made.
In particular, together with the Verkhovna Rada, procedures for defense enterprises have been simplified, localization requirements have been extended to defense procurements, and VAT on ground robotic complexes has been canceled. To support businesses in the energy sector, affordable financing for the development of distributed generation has been introduced, as well as conditions for the rapid connection of new capacities.
Additionally, the support package for enterprises affected by Russian shelling has been expanded. Starting July 1, a new lending program will come into effect, complementing the existing "Made in Ukraine" policy instruments.
The "Economy of the Future" strategy, developed by the government together with the World Bank and international experts, was also discussed separately. It envisages a long-term transformation of the economy.
The document outlines the country's development vision for the next 15 years and foresees the formation of an economy based on a strong private sector, investments, modern industry, and European standards.
